A user can Cut cut or Copy Copy an RFA file from the Family Manager and Paste Paste it to another directory.

The user must select a file from the Family Area, then move to a new Family Area and click Paste.

After clicking on an icon for a family, the user can click the Scissors to cut the family and change locatins then click the Paste.

It will move the family from one directory to another. The Copy button will copy a family from one directory to another or make another version in the same directory.

View

The user can see the RFA files in the Family Area as icons or in a list view.

By clicking the bottom icon, it displays the families in a list.

2. Library

Library

Directory locations where RFA files are located. Base Revit directories are loaded along with user selected locations from the Locations menu on the File menu.

The directories listed in Location are the diretories located in Places from the Options menu under FIle Locations. If a directory in Places does not exist, it will not be displayed

The other location directories are used comes from the Locations under File menu in the top left cormer of the Family Manager.

3. Family Set

Manage

Allows a user to build a group of families, which can be loaded into a project all at once.

Enter a name for the Family Set name

Click Create Family Set

Now the user is ready to add families to the set.

Click the "Add Family" and browse till the RFA file is located, the click Open. RFA's can be added from different directories.

To Remove a file, select the row on the left side, then click Remove Family.

To save a Family Set, click the Save Family Set button. This is saved so the user can use the Family Set in other projects.

Once a Family Set is selected, the families from the set can be loaded into the project by clicking the Load Family Set button. If the user does not want to load a particular family out of the set, the user can uncheck a row in the select column.

Buttons at the top of the form, allow the user to change the selection. All to select all, None to de-select all and Invert to change the select column for each row to the opposite value.

 

By right clicking on a Family Set name, the user can Delete or Rename a Family Set.
